Well, last night we had a great time at Anna & Andy’s wedding in Hogarth’s Hotel – and it was the last wedding disco for Sounds Fishy. We’ve got a couple more disco bookings in the diary, but going forward we’re concentrating on audio, video & event production. Sounds Fishy is actually moving out of the UK and this is the only reason we’re stopping the disco side of the business.

Thanks to all the brides, grooms and wedding planners who we’ve worked with over the years – it’s been a lot of fun and hopefully we’ve played a part in raising the production values at weddings!

Lastly, thanks to Christian, Chris and Ben for all their hard work and long hours making Sounds Fishy wedding discos look and sound SO good… They are the guys who are first in and last out. I got a little bit emotional when we shut the van doors and they drove off into the darkness, back towards the warehouse, at 1.38 this morning (well, it had been a long day!). Then I remembered we do have some more dates in the diary.. just no more weddings…

Well, the entire Sounds Fishy team has been really over the last couple of months… and we’re very proud to say that we have been busy working for the Uk’s biggest theme park – Alton Towers Resort.
Working closely with the Marketing team, we’ve created new videos and audio productions that are now live on the Monorails, in the Monorail Stations, on Skyride and in the Resort Box Office.
With 5 different voice overs, a composer, 2 audio producers, and motion graphics designers & animators all working on this project it’s been a lot of fun – and a lot of work.

We’ve also been working for corporate clients with presentations and videos for some world class, multinational companies.

Hopefully we’ll be able to post sample videos of our work on here very soon.

Although we’ve had an enjoyable break from the discos and live events, Sounds Fishy have still been busy since Christmas working on corporate video presentations. We made two motion graphic driven videos for an international, FTSE100 company to be used this week at their big meeting in Milan.. and also created Spanish, German and French translations of a training support video for one of the World’s biggest aircraft manufacturers.

For the motion graphics videos we worked with an amazing Voice Over artist and not only produced the entire “movie trailer” style soundtrack – but also created the key animations to bring the video to life and really capture that movie trailer theme.

More corporate sound work is coming up for us too.. we’re looking forward to working with the UK’s biggest theme park to update all the guest information audio for the monorails and cable cars.

Last Sunday the sounds Fishy team installed our state of the art sound and lighting system in The Hamilton Suite at Drayton Manor. Toby & Katie won a free wedding with Heart 100.7 and we were asked to supply the disco for the evening celebrations. Dan, and all his team at Drayton Manor were great to work with and it was a great night.. even for a ‘school night’ !

Last week the Sounds Fishy team were down in Windsor working on a corporrate video for a FTSE250 international company. As well as the shoot, we completed the edit and are delivering the finished product in 12 different subtitle languages including Chinese, Korean, Spanish and German.

Working with Sarah our makeup artist, and an autocue/prompt system we shot the video in just a couple of hours.. here’s some behind the scenes pics…

We’ve made marryoke style wedding videos.. like this and this but here’s a video that’s a little different – shot on the wedding day, we then tracked in a selection of the official photos to create a giant “ipdad” to be passed amongst the wedding guests !

Blimey.. I’m a little behind on updates.. August has been crazy busy.. and September is looking the same. Not that any of us at Sounds Fishy are complaining, it’s all good fun – it just makes it hard to get around to things like updating the website !

So, at the start of August it was our great pleasure to provide the evening entertainment for Sarah and George at The Granary.
Sarah used to work at Heart FM with me, as a roadshow dancer. Sarah, not me. I can’t dance at all. That’s why I dJ.
Anyway, Sarah worked on the Heart roadshows many years ago.. and wanted to have the same team that handled the heart roadshow provide all the equipment and expertise for her wedding… and here is what she said on our Facebook page.. after the celebrations…

Ian, It was absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful day, and the evening was just fantastic. Thank you so much for playing fab music all night, for making the room pink! For creating a fab atmosphere, and for playing the roadshow classics. I did say before the wedding, if people wanted to speak to me on the night they would find me on the dance floor. I didn’t lie did I?! I do have a slightly sore hip from all the dancing and swirling of my dress! But it was so worth it. Thank you so much again! xxxxx

The wedding was, as should be expected by anybody who knows Sarah, pink themed and with a princess & castle fairytale wedding cake.. so we used our intelligent lighting system to light the whole of the room up in a deep pink as the guests walked in, and for the first dance. Sarah never left the dancefloor all night, from first dance through to a special “last dance” moment to Take That’s “Never Forget”.

It’s a busy time for the Sounds Fishy team at the moment ! Right now we’re having lots of building, electrical & IT work done at HQ making our edit and office factilites even more efficient – but that means that whilst the tradesmen are in, all the kit has to be packed up and dust sheeted to keep it safe. SO.. in addition to working on some cool parties and events the rest of our time is spent trying to find all the things we packed away under a fine layer of plaster dust, and a not so fine layer of rubble, cable cut offs, power tool batteries and lots and lots of empty mugs.

We recently worked at The Granary for Sarah & George’s wedding… Sarah sent us a great message on Facebook the very next day, and we’re hoping to have a testimonial from her once she comes back from the honeymoon.
